(Washington, DC) Today, Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-Miramar) participated in a Strategic Policy Forum (SPF) program hosted by the National Defense University for the Secretary of Defense, entitled ‘Imperial Pursuit? Russia in the 21^st Century.'

The forum examined how political and economic "inputs" at the domestic, regional and international levels shape Russian decision-making "outputs" and identified the United States' response to them. 

Further, it looked at how domestic and international economic factors intersect, creating strategic limitations and preferences for Russia. The forum also discussed to what degree domestic changes, including in demographics, public opinion and the economy, influence evolving Russian political structures and foreign policy.
